Delaware

We took our first trip in our RV to Trap Pond State Park just three weeks after purchasing the van and knowing VERY little about how RVs work. We decided on Delaware as is was close by, the parks were open in December, and we could make a reservation. On this first trip, we traveled with a friend who we have tent camped with over the years. In fact, Maude was originally our friend’s dog who we informally adopted for several years, and that’s when we decided to name our new van Maude. This trip was the only time that we slept three people in the van. It was a tight but cozy fit and a great first trip. We biked, hiked, and enjoyed sitting by the lake. We were relieved to learn that all of the van’s components (e.g., stove, heater) worked well. We dry camped as the van was already winterized and we didn’t want to introduce water on our first winter trip.
